About me…
Twist of Fate Pottery started in Feb. 2019 by artist Rachel Normington.
I just opened my new location in September 2021 at 14 Powwow River Rd. East Kingston, NH. It has a gallery of work for sale, and my personal studio space where people can visit and see how it’s made. I also host fun clay parties featuring different products to make with me each month.
I’ve always been interested in art but my journey with clay began towards the end of high school. I enjoyed a pottery class there and took a few sculpting classes at NH institute of Art before I graduated HS. I knew I wanted to pursue a career in Art so I continued my education at the NH Institute of Art. I choose Ceramics as my Major, based solely on the fact that I thought it would be the most fun! While there, I dedicated myself to the medium and spent as much time as I could working in the studio. I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Art in 2010. After college I tried my hand at production pottery but then decided to travel the country for a few years instead. Since I was unable to travel and make pottery, I still had a need to be creative so I took on sewing and leather-working, which I turned into a business to fund my travels. While out on the road, I discovered southern Oregon and decided to settle there for a bit and get back into clay. I opened a studio and business in my garage and sold my pottery at local farmer’s markets. When I became a mother, I needed to be near my family so I moved back to the east coast and found Studio 550. I started teaching there, reopened my studio and started my current business “Twist of Fate Pottery.” I have pottery for sale at local shops in NH including Windham Junction in Windham, Bona-Fide Green Goods in Concord, Just Naturals in Bedford, and sometimes I pop-up at the Concord Arts Market.
