Sip ‘n Sculpt: Make a Pinch Pot Chicken!
November 8, 2026 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm Art Workz Creative Studio 11 Chestnut St. Amesbury MA
Join us for a fun and creative clay workshop where you’ll learn to sculpt your very own adorable ceramic chicken, enjoy wine and snacks, and make some new friends! Sign up to some pinch pot poultry—because who doesn’t need a few more chickens in their life?
Professional potter Rachel Normington will guide you step-by-step through creating your chicken from scratch using simple hand-building techniques. Starting with a basic pinch pot, you’ll shape and build your chicken, then add your own creative details to give it plenty of personality. No two chickens need to look alike!
Once your chicken is finished, you’ll add a bit of color and pick your glaze. Rachel will take care of the drying and firing process, finishing each piece with your glaze of choice. Your fully ceramic chicken will be ready to brighten up your home or garden. Make it a sculpture or give it a function, it could be a planter, salt cellar, pen holder etc. Your chicken will be available for pickup approximately two weeks after the workshop.
All materials, wine, and snacks are provided—feel free to bring your own drinks too! No previous clay experience is necessary, so come ready to get your hands dirty, have some laughs, and create your own one-of-a-kind ceramic chicken.
